Important Update: 2-Hour Delayed Start for North Bend Middle School

To: Parents, Guardians, and Students of North Bend Middle School

Subject: 2-Hour Delay for NBMS – Monday, April 13, 2026, School Starts at 10:00 AM

Due to an ongoing issue with the school’s sewage lines, North Bend Middle School will have a two-hour delayed start tomorrow, Monday, April 13, 2026. Please note that this delay affects North Bend Middle School only; all other schools in the district will remain on their normal schedules.

On Friday afternoon an issue with the school's external sewage lines was identified, leaving the school with no functional restroom facilities. Crews worked diligently to repair the external sewage line, but were unable to complete all repairs over the weekend. Repairs will resume early Monday morning. In the event repairs are not completed by the start of the school day (10:00 AM for NBMS on Monday only), we have installed Porta Potties and hand-washing stations across campus, and we have two restrooms that we have restored functionality to.

Transportation & Busing

To determine your child's adjusted bus schedule, please apply the "2-Hour Add Rule":

  • The 2-Hour Add Rule: Simply add two hours to your child’s normal pick-up time.

  • Example: If your student is typically picked up at 7:03 AM, their new pick-up time for Monday is 9:03 AM.

  • Exceptions: A very small number of routes cannot follow this rule. If your family is affected by an exception, you will be contacted directly by the bus company. If you do not receive a direct call, the 2-hour add rule applies to you.

State Academic Testing

If your student was originally scheduled to begin State Academic Testing tomorrow morning, please be advised that the test has been postponed. We expect testing to resume Tuesday.

We understand that schedule changes can be a challenge for families. Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as our staff work to ensure our school is safe and functional for our students. Our top priority is providing a productive learning environment, and we appreciate your support in making that possible.

Please stay tuned for further updates.
