February is CTE Month which stands for Career and Technical Education. Our CTE programs at North Bend High School directly prepare students for high-demand careers. Our programs cover many different fields, including culinary, health care, manufacturing and graphic design. Computer Science is a broad and widening term that encapsulates the technology that makes up our world. In our Technology CTE program, Richard Lowe has embraced several legacy and emerging technologies in order to give North Bend High School students a well rounded and inclusive look at technology around them. Incorporation of emerging trends, such as 3D Printing and mechanical engineering has further augmented what we can offer in the classroom. We are using 3D technologies to help improve areas such as robotics and mobile application development. The students have the opportunity to learn multiple programming languages as well as where those languages are best suited. Our current offerings range from Web Development, Computer Science Fundamentals, Game Development, Mobile Phone App development, Robotics and Embedded Systems. Students amerced into this program will have a great starting point for a career in the Software Development, Web Development or Software Engineering fields.
