Radon Testing Results

North Bend School District is testing all schools for radon in 2019-20, this testing is done every 10 -years. The district has engaged an independent professional environmental service to conduct the radon testing.

Testing will begin in December of 2020 and will be completed at all district schools over the following months. Results of the tests will be posted on this webpage as they become available.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Oregon Health Authority recommend that where an initial short-term test indicates a radon level at or above 4.0 picocuries per liter of air (pCi/L), a follow up measurement using a long-term test should be conducted. If the long-term measurement shows a level of radon above the recommended action level of 4.0 pCi/L, EPA recommends taking corrective measures to reduce radon levels.
