North Bend Schools welcome new and returning students for the 2019-2020 school year. The school year for North Bend School District begins on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 for grades 1-6 and 9th grade students. The first day of school for 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students at North Bend High School is Thursday, September 5th, 2019. Kindergarten orientation begins September 4th and 5th with the first day beginning Friday, September 6th.

Current Oregon law requires that the following immunizations be up-to-date or complete prior to starting school and that a signed statement by a physician or the local Health Department be provided at enrollment.
Kindergarten - 6th Grade: Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTap), Polio, Varicella (chickenpox), MMR, Hepatitus B, Hepatitus A.
7th - 12th Grade: Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTap), Tdap, Polio, Varicella (chickenpox), MMR, Hepatitus B, Hepatitus A.
Oregon law also provides that a physician or the Health Department can attest that the physical condition of the child is such that immunization would endanger his/her health, or a parent/guardian may complete a vaccine educational module from Oregon Health Authority.
Students planning on participating in athletics are required to have a physical examination performed by a physician prior to practice and competition. The examination must be performed every two years and also should be performed no earlier than May 1 of the preceding school year. Sixth graders who wish to participate in cross-country must also have the exam.
Transferring Districts: If you are interested in having your child/children attend school outside of your resident district, you must complete an Interdistrict Transfer Agreement Form. These forms are available at school district offices and on the district websites under PARENTS/Parent Resources. (or see below)

Parents of Middle School students trasnitioning to High School, 5th grade students that will be transitioning to the Middle School and incoming Kindergarten students/parents will find they have many questions about this process. The follwoing Q/A link will hopefully resolve many of your concerns
Below you will find the new Proof of Residency procedures, Inter-district transfer Form and Intra-district transfer form. Note that if new students are unable to provide all of the required documentation to prove residency at time of registration, you CANNOT register them until ALL documentation can be provided.
This new procedure/requirement applies district wide.
The North Bend School District Board of Directors approved a new elementary attendance line effective for the 2014-2015 school year.

Both sides of the street and the area North of the line will attend North Bay Elementary for grades K-5.
The area outside of the North Bend City limits that is within the school district boundary will continue to attend North Bay Elementary.
The area South of the line will attend Hillcrest Elementary for grades K-5.
