Kevin Bogatin Joins the North Bend School District
The North Bend School Board is proud to announce that during their regular board meeting held Monday, March 11th, Mr. Kevin Bogatin was hired as the district’s new Superintendent. The board welcomes Mr. Bogatin and looks forward to a productive working relationship as we shape our goals for 2020 and beyond.
Mr. Bogatin will begin his new post July 1, 2019. He currently holds the position of Assistant Superintendent for the Corvallis School District, a position he has held since 2010. He has experience as a district leader, building administrator, and teacher; as well as holding positions on the Oregon Department of Education’s Task Force on the Instruction of Talented and Gifted Children and the Dispute Resolution Committee. Mr. Bogatin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education degree, and has completed the Continuing Administrative Licensure Program from the University of Oregon.
The hiring of Mr. Bogatin follows a year-long, nationwide search, under the direction of consulting firm McPherson and Jacobson, LLC. Using information gathered from the school board, district staff, and community members, a search was conducted yielding 26 candidates. “We were very excited to bring three excellent finalists to our district and meet with each of them for a day long interview process,” said Board Chair Julianna Seldon. “Each candidate spent time with various groups from the community and district. After input from the district staff and community, the board held a spirited discussion and Mr. Bogatin emerged as the clear choice for our district. We are extremely excited to welcome him to the Home of the Bulldogs.”
Mr. Bogatin’s work in various state educational organizations, his passion and enthusiasm for education and students, as well as his experience in equity work within his current district, make him an excellent choice for North Bend’s new Superintendent.
The board wishes to thank the district staff and North Bend community for their valuable input throughout this process. Partnering with the community was vital to the process for selecting our new Superintendent.
